I like rice crispy treats as well as the next person, but I’ve made couple of tiny upgrades that I feel make a real difference.
- 5 tbsp salted butter
- 5 cups mini marshmallows
- 5 cups rice crispies cereal, generic is fine
In a large sauce pot, melt the butter over med low heat and swirl until lightly browned and it smells nutty. Add the marshmallow, and melt, stirring until the butter and marshmallows are combined. Turn off the heat and mix in the rice crispies. Stir until well coated. Turn the mixture out onto a sheet of wax paper and shape with a spatula into a rectangle. Let them cool and set, then cut into squares. Enjoy!
