Our local grocery store had a deal on 4 packs of Momofuku noodles, regular price $11.99, but on sale for $5.99, which I thought was a steal (full price feels steep). So we picked up all 4 flavors to review for you all. The prep for all is pretty simple and similar to ramen: boil the noodles, strain and add sauce packets.
First up is Sesame Miso. This is a no-spice flavor. The sauce came in one packet that you had to shake up first, then there was a separate packet for about 30 sesame seeds that were something of a garnish. I would recommend to the Momofuku brain trust, just put the seeds into the sauce packet and do Mother Earth a solid.
The flavor is savory and nutty. It has a good umami balance, with a little bit of richness from what I assume is sesame oil. On it’s own very tasty, but for those wanting a little spice, it would benefit from a little chili crisp drizzle. All in all a solid lunch. 3.5 out of 5 stars.
